Aulick Fund Recipients

The Aulick Fund scholarship is made in memory of Pastor Clifford Aulick, Holy Cross’ second pastor. Recipients of this scholarship is awarded to partners who are enrolled in a Concordia University and pursuing church and school ministry professions. We are able to offer this scholarship because of congregational support through the Fish Fry this past March and personal contributions.

Holy Cross is excited to have two recipients this year for this scholarship; Jacob Speckhard and Lillian Molvik. Jacob is starting this fall at Concordia U - Nebraska to pursue Elementary Education. Lillian is also beginning this fall at Concordia U - Chicago to pursue Deaconess studies. Learn more about the passion of why each of these recipients would like to work in ministry.

Jacob Speckhard

Pursuing a career in Lutheran education has become important to me, mostly because of the incredible support I have received from the teachers and faculty and Holy Cross and Concordia. Their enthusiasm for teaching and incorporating their faith in what they do has been truly inspiring to me.

I want to help guide the next generation with strong Christian values, and by being a role model. Children today and in the future will have many challenges growing up in this new world and I hope to be a positive role model like the ones I have been so fortunate to have in my life.

Lililan Molvik

I became interested  in pursuing a Deaconess degree after I talked  with several Deaconess including Deaconess Harington, also my older sister Aine is working on becoming a Deaconess through the St. Louis deaconess program, she is currently on internship.

I think I want to be a deaconess who works at a church for the church family. I have also studied American sign language and might want to pursue that for use in ministry.  I enjoy helping people. I feel like being a Deaconess I would be able to help people and share my Christian faith with others.
