YOUTH & FAMILY

 YOUTH & FAMILY LIFE

Our goal is to support parents in leading their children’s faith formation process and to support our teens & pre-teens in understanding their unique calling as young adult Christians. At Holy Cross, we have Faith Stepping Stones, First Communion and Confirmation. Each program is a voluntary commitment to grow in faith in the transitions of life, designed to truly equip our young people and their families to make a Christ-like difference.

First Communion

Confirmation

Holy Cross offers First Communion to baptized students in 5-8th grade (and is a prerequisite to our Confirmation process). It is our belief that Communion is a means of grace that God uses to bring forgiveness to His people. Anyone interested in taking their 1st Communion needs to go through our preparatory class in January.

Please sign up if you would like your child to be a part of the First Communion class on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 @ 9 am (Welcome Ctr).

Confirmation is a special time in the faith journey of our young people.  It’s a time in our Lutheran-Christian tradition when young adults contemplate the meaning of their faith and confirm the vows which were spoken for them at their baptism.  It is a time when the faith of their family and congregation becomes THEIR faith.  We know it is absolutely crucial for us as a church and especially you as parents to partner with your teen in this journey.

Youth Group Leader

My name is Craig Gerbers and God has called me to serve young people, both in my day job as a teacher at Concordia Lutheran High School and as the youth group leader for our middle and high school students here at Holy Cross.

A typical evening will include food, fun, and faith!  In addition to our monthly gatherings, we’ll have occasional special events throughout the year. I’ll send out reminders and details as each opportunity approaches.

My prayer is that Holy Cross’s youth group will be a place where your students can have a lot of fun together and grow in their relationships with each other and with Christ!  I am excited to walk alongside them as they navigate these teenage years.  Thank you for trusting me and our adult leaders with your kids.
