Susan LaCroix Retirement
Mrs. Susan LaCroix has been at Holy Cross Lutheran School for 29 years, with a total of 35 total years of teaching in Lutheran schools. At Holy Cross she currently is our music education teacher for Grades K-5 and director of Crusader Band & 5th Grade Band Blazers. She has also served as a second grade teacher, brass ensemble director, directed Primary Grade musicals and our Angelis Choir director for 4th-5th Grade. Susan has been with the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir since 1996 as the Director of Apprentice Choir & Preparatory Program.
A native of Minnesota, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Concordia University in River Forest, IL. Her first teaching position was at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church & School in Collinsville, IL before coming to HC as a teacher. She received additional training in the child’s voice, conducting, and Level One Kodály Certification at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. She has operated a private piano and flute studio and taught music education at PFW, Unity Lutheran School, and with Southwest Allen County Schools. Susan is married to Tim LaCroix, who teaches at CLHS. They have three married daughters, one grandson and one granddaughter.
Please join us for Susan’s retirement recognition at the 8:15 am worship service on Sunday, May 18. A reception will follow after the service.
As is our practice at Holy Cross for full-time workers upon their retirement, a love offering will be collected for Susan as a token of our love and appreciation.
