Call Hillary Braden

Join us for a quick Voters’ Meeting directly after service on Sunday, Aug. 16 in the sanctuary. We will vote to extend a Divine Call to Hillary Braden. Our teachers will be recognized and installed on Sunday, Aug. 23 at the 9 am worship service.

Hillary Braden, a former Holy Cross Lutheran School student, has faithfully served Holy Cross as a parent for more than a decade and more recently added teaching responsibilities to her participation.  She and her husband, Daniel, have been partners in the Gospel at Holy Cross since 2009. Daniel and Hillary have four children, Hendrix, Finola, Leo, and Maren.  

Hillary earned a B.A. in English Literature (2006), a B.S. in Secondary Education (2006), and a M.A. in English Literature (2011) from Indiana University.  After teaching in the public school system for 16 years, she joined the teaching staff at Holy Cross in 2022 as a 7th grade homeroom and 7th and 8th grade English teacher.  Hillary recently completed her colloquy through Concordia University Chicago and is now eligible to receive a Divine Call to serve as a full-time called teacher at Holy Cross.
