Crusader Run Makes Big Impact on School

This year’s Crusader Run promises to be bigger and better than ever.

On Friday, September 30, students in Pre-K through 8th grade will walk as many laps as possible in 30 minutes. With the pledges they received for their laps, we hope to raise $20,000 from the Crusader Run. The money will go towards replacing old lockers, which will cost $50,000.

The Crusader Run remains Holy Cross’ second largest fundraiser, raising vital funds for school building improvements and classroom needs. Through past fundraisers, the Parent Action Team has purchased new MacBooks and cafeteria tables for the school.

Kids Pre-K to 8th are encouraged to raise funds before the event by asking family, friends, and neighbors to sponsor them either per lap or for a flat rate. Credit card payments are also accepted this year. Click here to follow the steps for donating online.

Besides raising funds, the school is also looking for volunteers for the event. Laurie Carter, head of the Parent Action Team, said there are great benefits to helping with the event.

“If everyone does their part this school will be even better than it already is,” Laurie said. “Volunteering for the event allows you to meet other parents, faculty and staff. It is a lot of fun watching every age group run with their teachers and staff.”

But most of all, it’s a fun event that allows you to support Holy Cross in the process.

“You get to see your child in their school environment interacting with their classmates and having fun,” Laurie said. What could be better than that?
